My name is Mar Ortiz and I am a video editor. My job involves to be creative but I also become a storytelling, always seeking the purpose of my clients.

I appreciate the beauty of the subtlest and simplest things and understand that my job is to help you convey your audiovisual message. 

I love that my work builds stories and generates emotions. My aim is to achieve a feeling of empathy between the movie and the audience, using the appropriate technology and programmes to tell realities and fantasies, from the most pragmatic narratives, such as a video tutorial, to the most creative ones, such as an experimental video. I move comfortably not only in highly technical environments such as documentaries or fiction but also in more flexible ones such as Youtube or TikTok.

I am a journalist and audiovisual technician with a specialization in film editing. In addition to my official training, I rely on my self-taught curiosity to offer my clients the latest tools and formats.

When I start a project, I automatically make it my own. It’s a unique process that leads me not only to put together interesting sequences, but most importantly to develop a sense of rhythm and a trained-eye for choosing those moments that are able to alter the mood of the viewer, either intentionally or unconsciously. In a way, and as I like to call it, I become a curator of images.
